Listening to your favorite old songs more and more and i now understand that there are many singers/artists in that era that are similar to Janet Jackson/Paula Abdul and they are all sounds great. I really love the black and white mv in that times. I dont know how much Herb Ritts's influence is in today's mv but look like he is the god of the 80s-90s.

I just listened to Maxwell's This Woman's work. He covers the Kate Bush signature track beautifully. U can watch it here

I'm not sure about the influence of Herb Ritts, but I think he was very famous during that period. I love many black-and-white music videos during that time, too, especially STILL A THRILL (Jody Watley), which focuses on the architecture:

I love many songs during that period which have the same dancing beats as Janet Jackson/Paula Abdul. I'm not sure what this type of music is called. Some songs in this group are produced by L.A. & Babyface. My favorite songs in this group are

1.SECRET RENDEZVOUS – Karyn White

2.THE LOVER IN ME – Sheena Easton

3.SEX CYMBAL – Sheila E

4.RUNNING BACK TO YOU – Vanessa Williams

Maxwell's THIS WOMAN'S WORK is great. He has really done justice to Kate Bush's song. Another song inspired by Kate Bush which I like very much is SOMETHING GOOD – Utah Saints, which samples CLOUDBUSTING by Kate Bush:
