1.LUNG NEAW VISITS HIS NEIGHBOURS (2011, Rirkrit Tiravanija, documentary, A+10)
I'm not sure if this film is just an uncompromising documentary, which makes no attempt at all to entertain the viewers, or it is a subtle parody on a group of Thai arthouse films. Thanks to Wiwat Lertwiwatwongsa for pointing this thing out. There's a thin line between PERU TIME (Chaloemkiat Saeyong) and YOU HAVE TO WAIT ANYWAY (Nawapol Thamrongrattanarit). PERU TIME makes us stare at a scene in which nothing happens for nearly 20 minutes, because the director likes that scene. YOU HAVE TO WAIT ANYWAY makes us stare at a scene in which nothing happens for approximately 20 minutes, because the director wants to play with the viewers. I'm not sure if LUNG NEAW VISITS HIS NEIGHBOURS belongs to the PERU TIME group or YOU HAVE TO WAIT ANYWAY group.
