A COMPARTIMENT FOR A HUNDRED PEOPLE AND MORE (1965, Marek Piwowski, Poland, A+)
At first I thought the strange noise during the minute 1:38-2:20 is diegetic sound which the characters can hear. I just noticed in my second viewing that the strange noise is non-diegetic.
At first I also thought that the killer is a psychopath, but when I googled the Polish word printed on the newspaper, I guess the killer might kill people for money.
Thanks to Filmsick for telling us about this film.
