I like the painting UNTITLED by Sokey Edorh from Togo very much. This is what Alfred Banze wrote about this painting:
“Lome, Togo, 2 December 2005”
Edorh shows me his work, he has developed his own script. It allows him to freely comment on all the problems of this world without causing any problems for himself. This is how he negotiates the line between living in politically volatile Togo and concern for his international career as an artist.”
The painting of Edorh somehow reminds me of the feeling of living in Thailand. Since Thailand has no freedom of speech, we have to invent many “symbolic words”, so that we can talk about the forbidden subject without being arrested.
