POLL 23: YOUNG GIRLS

My poll 23 is inspired by three films I love and saw in May: JUNO, MIDNIGHT RAINBOW, and DEK JOE. These three films are about female teenagers. So I think I should make a list of my favorite films about female teenagers.

You can cast multiple votes.

SPOILERS: When I say these films are about female teenagers, I don’t mean that the main topic of the films is female teenagers. In the case of MIDNIGHT RAINBOW, the female teenager in the film is actually “a state of mind” of a brutal female serial killer. In the case of DEK JOE, I’m not 100 % sure that the protagonist of the film is actually a boy or girl, but from my first viewing, I guess the protagonist is a girl who is a psychotic murderer.

Mean Girls and Charlie Bartlett are two good teen movies.

I like MEAN GIRLS (A-) a lot, and I think it should be screened together with HEATHERS (1989, Michael Lehmann, A+).

I haven’t seen CHARLIE BARTLETT (2007, Jon Poll), but it sounds interesting. I like Anton Yelchin very much when he starred in HOUSE OF D (2004, David Duchovny, B+).

Another favorite American film about teenagers is PRETTY PERSUASION (2005, Marcos Siega).
