Films seen in the Mexican Film Festival 2014
1.NAZARIN (1959, Luis Buñuel, A+30)
I want to screen this film together with AU HASARD, BALTHAZAR (1966,
Robert Bresson) and THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO ST MATTHEW (1964, Pier Paolo
Pasolini).
2.MEXICAN BUS RIDE (ASCENT TO HEAVEN) (1952, Luis Buñuel, A+20)
I like the scene in which a middle-class little girl wants to look
at the face of the dead poor little girl who died suddenly because of a snake
bite. This scene seems irrelevant to the main story of the film, but it is
strangely touching.
3.THE GREAT MADCAP (1949, Luis Buñuel, A+15)
I like romantic relationship between the rich woman and the poor
man very much.
4.ILLUSION TRAVELS BY STREETCAR (1954, Luis Buñuel, A+10)
5.DAUGHTER OF DECEIT (1951, Luis Buñuel, A+5)
I like how a good man can turn completely bad in this film.
