RIP Peter Liechti
I just knew that Peter Liechti passed away on April 4, 2014. I have
seen only one of his films—THE SOUND OF INSECTS, RECORD OF A MUMMY (2009),
which was shown in the World Film Festival of Bangkok in 2010. I like that film
very much. I think it is like an essay film, or a film which is partly
documentary, partly fiction, and partly experimental. It lets me flow into the
stream of consciousness of a man who committed suicide. I hope to see more of
his old films in the future.
