THESE ARE THREE PHOTOS FROM "SORRY" (2007, NORASET VAISAYAKUL, A+++++) SHOWN AT PSG GALLERY IN LATE FEBRUARY.
THE FIRST PHOTO IS A VIDEO SHOWING SOME PEOPLE SAYING "SORRY" FOR DOING, THINKING, SAYING SOMETHING WRONG. EACH PEOPLE SEEMED TO BE SENTENCED TO REPEAT ONE SENTENCE A HUNDRED TIMES. THE VIDEO IS ABOUT 30-MINUTE LONG.
THIS IS A PHOTO FROM ONE ROOM IN THE EXHIBITION. THE AUDIENCE STAND IN FRONT OF A GIANT BLUE SCREEN SETTING, WHILE A VIDEO RECORDER IN AN UPPER CORNER OF THE ROOM WILL MATCH THE AUDIENCE WITH A WAR-TORN SETTING IN THE BACKGROUND.
THIS IS A VIDEO SHOWING NORASET VAISAYAKUL IN A BARREN LANDSCAPE. IT MAKES ME THINK OF "PURGATORY", OR SOME MOVIES MADE BY FAOZAN RIZAL, ONE OF THE BEST INDONESIAN FILMMAKERS.
