AN ENGLISH HOMEWORK IN 1990S

 

ผลจากการดูดฝุ่นกองเอกสารเก่า ทำให้เราเจอหนังสือ 5 เล่มที่เราจำไม่ได้ว่ามันเคยวางแจกฟรีในงานอะไร คิอถ้าหากเราจำไม่ผิด หนังสือ 5 เล่มนี้เคยวางแจกฟรีในงานฉายหนังอะไรสักงานที่สถาบันเกอเธ่ หรือไม่ก็ที่สมาคมฝรั่งเศส ถนนสาทรใต้ แต่เราจำไม่ได้แล้วว่ามันคืองานอะไร ใครจำได้บ้างคะ น่าจะราว ๆ สัก 20 ปีก่อน

 

หนังสือ 5 เล่มนี้ประกอบไปด้วยหนังสือ APICHATPONG WEERASETHAKUL, NAVIN RAWANCHAIKUL, NARAPHONG CHARASSRI, PINAREE SANPITAK และ SURASI KUSOLWONG

การบ้านวิชาภาษาอังกฤษของ “แคชฟียา” ในช่วงต้นทศวรรษ 1990

 

ผลจากการค้นกองเอกสารเก่า ทำให้เราเจอ “การบ้านวิชาภาษาอังกฤษ” ของเพื่อนคนหนึ่งที่เราเคยถ่ายเอกสารเก็บไว้ด้วย เพื่อนของเราคนนี้ตั้งสมญานามให้ตัวเองว่า “แคชฟียา” ตอนนั้นเธอเรียนมหาลัยแห่งหนึ่งในกรุงเทพในช่วงปี 1991-1994 และมันมีการบ้านวิชาภาษาอังกฤษที่เธอต้องแต่งเรื่องสั้นส่งอาจารย์ เธอก็เลยแต่งเรื่อง LOVE STORY ส่งไป เราอ่านแล้วก็ชอบมาก ๆ ก็เลยถ่ายเอกสารเก็บไว้เมื่อราว 30 ปีก่อน

 

การบ้านวิชาภาษาอังกฤษนี้ไม่ได้เน้นที่ “ตัวเนื้อเรื่อง” นะ แต่เน้นที่การใช้ไวยากรณ์ภาษาอังกฤษให้ถูกต้อง เพราะฉะนั้นตัวเนื้อเรื่องก็เลยไม่มีอะไรมาก แต่เราอ่านแล้วก็ชอบสุดขีด เพราะมันเหมือนบันทึก “จินตนาการของกะเทยอย่างเรา” ในช่วงวัยรุ่นในช่วงต้นทศวรรษ 1990 เอาไว้ มันบันทึกความ innocence ของพวกเรากับเพื่อนๆ เมื่อ 30 กว่าปีก่อนเอาไว้ และปัจจุบันนี้พวกเราไม่มีความ innocence แบบนั้นหลงเหลืออยู่อีกแล้ว

 

เนื้อเรื่องข้างล่างนี้เป็นสิ่งที่เพื่อนเราเขียนส่งอาจารย์นะ เพราะฉะนั้นการใช้ tense และไวยากรณ์ในบางประโยคจะมีข้อผิดพลาดอยู่ด้วย ส่วนการใช้ไวยากรณ์ที่ถูกต้องที่อาจารย์แก้ไขมาให้สามารถดูได้จากรูปประกอบจ้ะ

 

LOVE STORY

 

Yasmin, Cindy and Niki were seventeen years old when they had just completed their high school. Yasmin had long, curly blonde hair and a sexy body. Cindy had long straight red hair, full lips and small, violet eyes. Niki had long, brown hair which had usually been tied back with pale-colored ribbons while she was in school. After she had graduated, she pulled her ribbon away from her hair and let the wind caress her hair while she was walking out of the school. Desire flickered in her eyes. They all hadn’t decided yet whether they would continue their learning. They wanted to find out about themselves, about the meaning of life, and especially about love which they hadn’t had before. They began to work as waitresses in a restaurant on a beach near their houses. There was a man named Gary who came to have lunch at this restaurant. He had brown eyes, thin lips, and soft voice. He was six feet tall and seemed to be quiet. His job was selling plants. Yasmin, Cindy and Niki thought that he was very handsome and they all fell in love with when they just first saw him. When Cindy was going to bring him the food he had ordered, she stumbled and fell on him because she hadn’t yet been accustomed to her new high-heeled which were four inches tall. The plates and the glasses she brought were broken and scattered all over the floor and stained his clothes. However, he was not angry at all. He paid for the broken plates and glasses, and Cindy felt very grateful to him. She decided to pay him back. So Cindy, Yasmin and Niki asked him if they could be his guides for a trip to the islands near there. He agreed after he had seen the girls and thought that they were very attractive. When they were on the boat to an island, he felt seasick and had to vomit. He felt embarrassed but the girls didn’t mind it at all. Instead, they tried to help him feel better. While they were nursing him, he became impressed by their kindness. After he had spent some time with them on the island, he admitted to himself that he had fallen in love with Niki because she was the smartest. He revealed his love to her. She was very glad and told him that she loved him too. After they had returned from the trip, he introduced Niki to his parents. They all thought that Niki was the right one for him. However, when Niki asked Yasmin’s opinion, Yasmin told Niki that Niki was too young to be serious with love, but Cindy advised Niki not to let this love pass if Niki was sure that this was a real love. Niki’s parents also liked Gary although they knew that Gary had been a woman before he underwent a transsexual operation which changed him from a woman to a man. Four years later, Niki graduated from a university. Gary and Niki get married.
